2022 Circumference Cabernet Sauvignon | CostcoWineBlog.com
This was a new one for us that popped up with a hefty limited time discount that obviously caught our eye. That’s $10 off the already very good Costco price.
We found this bottle retailing for $45, and listing elsewhere including Wine Enthusiast for $35. That publication also scored the wine 88 points, which we feel is spot on. Note discount ends 7/28.
The grapes are from Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, and the wine is made by Precision Wine Co., who frequently sells wine into Costco, and we’ve found them to be hit or miss over the years, but generally worth trying a bottle.
This wine falls more on the hit side. It’s big on flavor and spice; nice cigar box and cedar notes; it pours a deep ruby in the glass, lots of vanilla on the nose with spice and dark fruit; flavors are dark fruit, blackberry, blueberry, somewhat jammy; dark chocolate into the lasting finish.
We enjoyed this bottle with some grilled burgers and it was delicious. We wouldn’t pay the full retail price of $45 for this one, but it’s an 88 pointer for sure in our book.
And for $12.99 at Costco right now, that’s the kind of wine buy we’re looking for.
