2022 King Estate Pinot Gris
This is a Costco staple white wine that we know a lot of readers have enjoyed. And we have too; we just haven’t reviewed it on the site in a very long time (2012 vintage).
King Estate is a solid Oregon producer; their Acrobat Pinot Gris was a Costco mainstay for a while, and was priced a few bucks lower that this bottle.
Ratings have been pretty good too as you can see on the Costco placard. The $14.99 price is a good discount off the $20 retail price for this wine, but a quick online search shows it available for $14.99 at Total Wine. So no real cost savings to buying it at Costco.
In the glass the wine is a medium straw color; subtle nose, light citrus fruit with medium body; flavors of lemon, white peach, pear; gentle acidity; crisp finish that lingers a bit.
Very enjoyable, and food friendly; we just wish Costco’s price would beat (not match) some of the other outlets.
