2021 Oregon Territory Pinot Noir

2021 Oregon Territory Pinot Noir

Here’s a new addition to the Pinot Noir aisle, at least around the stores we frequent in the Atlanta area. And we’re really happy we found it. It’s hard to find quality Pinot Noir under $20 but this one hits the mark.

We just reviewed the latest vintage of the Four Graces Pinot from Willamette Valley and thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend that one, as well as this bottle, for Pinot fans who adore these great wines from the Northwest as much as we do.

Retail price on this bottle is around $20, so Costco is bringing it in at a pretty good discount at $15.99. And it’s definitely worthy of that price, if not more.

Wine Enthusiast awarded the previous vintage of this bottle 93 points and designated it a Best Buy (we know it says 2020 on the sign but it was also for the 2021 vintage, or the sign is wrong).

This wine is a dark, deep purple in the glass, loaded with black cherry flavor; medium plus in body; rather elegant, not the style we were expecting (label and branding are a little cheeky). Very food friendly for almost any cuisine. Touch of spice in the finish, lingers for a bit.

This is an interesting wine that is very different than we expected. It’s young and juicy still, but refined and keeps you coming back from more. A very nice addition to Costco’s Pinot Noir section.
